Walking into an old palazzo, or into a great private collection, I’ve always been struck by works born from a commission: made on purpose for that space, that family, that moment. That’s where my idea of commissions comes from: not just paintings, but environments conceived to bring out the space that holds them.

Commissioning a work isn’t buying an object: it’s bringing it into existence. That’s what the Medici did, what the Guggenheims did: they didn’t buy art, they made it possible, and that’s why their names remain tied to it forever.
In my research the Ritratti d’ignoti are the memories of the living, Blu Affondo the remains of civilization. A work born for you enters this story and becomes, in its own way, your memory.
I can create a work tailored to your space, or help you choose the right one among my existing pieces. Not just canvases: walls, surfaces, furnishings too. For homes and for businesses.
If you want to be a patron, buy or design a work, support me or involve me in a project, write to me. I’m also open to proposals beyond a direct purchase, such as a trade: tell me what you have in mind.
How it works
- Tell me about the space: where the work will live, the colours of the room, the atmosphere you are looking for.
- Together we define format, technique, palette and timing.
- I create the piece, unique and unrepeatable, like every work by Oltreombra.
Tell me about your project below: I’ll answer you personally with a proposal and a quote.
